Sometimes I Miss My Old Self

I miss the old chapters of my book. I find myself rereading them over and over, sometimes scribbling over the words because I wanted someone to stay or I wanted something to happen differently.

I forget that I also hold a highlighter in the other hand. I can underline the best parts of that paragraph instead of wishing things were different.

Life has to happen in order to advance us into the next chapter. Instead of focusing on what could've happened or how you used to be, focus on what got you here. Highlight the key moments that made you the person that you are now.

Regardless, the book is going to continue to be written, you can choose to focus on what builds you up or what tears you down.

Keep highlighting.

Sincerely,

W5
